这几年甚少看新传媒的电视剧，《行医》是难得的好剧，而且看到大结局尾部时，我眼眶是湿的，也不明白为什么，可能又是双鱼座的多愁善感吧。
I know that Christmas is over (New Year is not though!), but found this video posted by a friend (and probably re-posted by many people) which is so touching. My eyes were wet at the end of the video (although I knew the ending from the sypnosis).
Such videos/films always get to me. I remembered there was one TCS telemovie (now known as Mediacorp, but they don’t produce such telemovies anymore) 《七月幽情》depicting a touching tale of a father and son (then acted by a young Chew Chor Meng).
The true spirit of Christmas is really not about just having fun and receiving presents. It is also about sharing of joy (especially with the less fortunate) and spending time with our loved ones, which most of us will take for granted.

I was glad to have spent Christmas with some good friends (and then home with family), be it a small number. This morning, I met up with an ex-colleague whom I have not seen for ages. Although we just had brunch and some shopping, it was meaningful to me.
Today is Christmas again. I always felt particularly melancholy on Christmas Eve, even after company with friends. I am a boring person and has never gone clubbing, festival or no festival. For me, it is just good enough for me to be with my family and friends (a small gathering at a friend’s place would suffice). I would even avoid the town area as I really really hate crowds (old already, my heart cannot take the crowd at Orchard).
Yesterday, after a volunteering session (my first at Christmas Eve! it was great) at Metta Home near my place, I went to a mini gathering (really mini, only four of us) at a friend’s place. We just had a cosy and sumptious home-cooked dinner (no turkey…. I don’t really like the taste of turkey anyway).
We just chatted and watched TV, but I enjoyed myself tremendously, more than any clubbing or partying (which I never go anyway). I hope we can have more of such gatherings again.
This morning, the first Christmas song I wanted to hear was John Lennon’s Happy Christmas (War is over) and for certain reasons, kept replaying it. I find the lyrics really meaningful, especially in light of all the natural and manmade disasters (it has been a turbulent 2011 both for the world and Singapore) and people suffering. May 2012 be a year of peace and happiness for everyone in this world.

Christmas is not just a season for us to have receive gifts and have fun and partying, but also a season to give and share joy and happiness with everyone, including the less fortunate. For the coming year, I resolve not to focus so much on myself, but to always spare a thought for everyone, including the less fortunates. “And so this is Christmas, and what have you done……”

So I also pray that the coming year in Singapore will be without “flooding” or “ponding” (a new term I learnt over the weekends) and the trains will not suffer another breakdown, hee hee!
Lastly, Christmas is a season to share with all humans and creatures a like. I bought a cute hairband for my bitch (literally she is one!) Bambi aka 小杂. She didn’t seemed too thrilled about the gift looking at her expression…..

Just now (actually counted as yesterday already), I met up with some ex-colleagues for lunch then a visit to Expo for the “A Moving Masterpiece: The Song Dynasty as Living Art” (清明上河图) exhibition, right after my Yoga lessons in the morning . Come to think of it, this is probably the last blissful Yoga session I am going to have in the morning, school is reopening.
